Gifts….are messing me up….

I owe all of you out there in internet world an apology…I have been working on a LOT of gifts lately, and therefore have not been publishing updates and pictures. The gifts I am working on are of course for people that are following me (or at least that I hope they are following me) and I don’t want to ruin any surprises. Soon I will actually give you real updates with pictures and all. Promise.

The Queen’s Jacket featuring Celeste Yarn

Having been given a new yarn product by my beloved mentor, Gail, I started out on this new adventure of figuring out how to use a very finicky product.

Gail handed me a new yarn product called Celeste that is made by S. Charles Collezione and Tahki Stacy Charles. It is a tubular knit product that looks cool and drapes in a really neat way. However, its tubular construction makes it challenging to work with, as it runs on its cut edges.

After many hours of trial and error (much more error than anything else) I finally found a nice and clean way to finish it. With that milestone behind me, I moved on to design a jacket with it.

The jacket looks great and a special thanks to Colleen for photographing it, Amber for modeling for the photos, Meghan for getting it online and letting me bounce ideas off of her for what seemed like forever and to Gail for giving me the yarn to work with.

This is a Bookerworx Original Pattern by Danika Norey. It is for individual use only. Must obtain permission for instruction or resale.

This pattern is meant to utilize the unique fabric of Celeste by Tahki Stacy Charles. It mixes crocheting with hand and machine sewing to create a really interesting jacket.

Additional materials are a small crochet hook, 2 spools of thread: one neutral and one accent, Bias Strip (3 yards), Sharp Scissors, Pins, Sewing Machine with zigzag stitch capability, and hand sewing needles of your choice.

There is still room in the workshop being held tomorrow at the Cornwall Yarn Shop.

The workshop is free with the purchase of a Bunny Kit ($10 at the shop) and will be held from 12noon until 1:30. All you need is a needle, thread and your kit.

Tuesday Class and Sashiko II

Yesterday’s Sashiko I class was a great success! There is a repeat of Sashiko I on Tuesday morning from 10am to 1pm for all of those who have full weekends. Please email me to register for it, as the Shop is closed until Tuesday. There are only two spots left, so please don’t wait or you’ll miss out.

Sashiko II classes are scheduled for Saturday, March 10th from 12 noon-3pm OR Tuesday, March13th from 10am-1pm.
Prerequisites: Must have taken Sashiko I
Cost: $30
PLEASE PRE-REGISTER! There is a limit to how many students can be in the classroom.
